EW's The Ausiello Files reported yesterday that Ashlee Simpson and All My Children's Colin Egglesfield (who plays Auggie on the show) have been given their waling papers. The producers claim that it was always the plan for Ashlee and Colin to be chopped from the show once the Sydney death storyline came to an end. Todd Slavkin, the show's executive producer, said, "Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Augie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way. That was the original plan going into the development of the show."
I thought they finally decided to get rid of her because she was a shit actress on the show. I mean, I would have at leas thought once you come from Seventh Heaven, you would have emerged like the Meryl Streep of sleaze TV. unfortunately her acting came off about as convincing as Baloon Boy's mom on CNN (and Wife Swap). For some reason, ever since Ashlee's first scene on MP, I always pegged her as Sydney's killer. hell, I knew she was Sydney's daughter long before she revealed that bomb drop. I never saw Colin's fireation coming, though. While he was cute to look at, there was really nowhere for his character to go on the show. hope you get a new job soon, Colin, or it's back to All My Children for you.
Sidebar: How many of you wanna bet they got chopped because MP's ratings saviour Heather Locklear is back on the show?
