Finally some good news on the Resident Evil series. A few months back, it was reported that Screenwriter Paul W.S. Anderson was working on the script for the fourth chapter in the popular video game to film franchise. Now we have more news as who will be joining the cast.
As you all know, actress Milla Jovovich reprises her role as the zombie-fighting heroine Alice. Returning from Resident Evil:Extinction will be Ali Larter (Heroes)and Spencer Locke as Claire Redfield and K-Mart, respectively. New to the film franchise is leading man Wentworth Miller (Prison Break), who will play Chris Redfield – Claire's brother and a popular character from the game series.
The role of Alice's nemesis Wesker has been recast with actor Shawn Roberts.Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates have also been cast.
Paul W.S. Anderson is returning to the director's chair with a script he penned. He'll be shooting this entry in 3-D.
According to Shocktillyoudrop.com, Anderson offered a small glimpse of what can be expected in the new film: "Alice's battle with The Umbrella Corporation isn't finished," he says. "Last time we saw Alice, she let them know she was coming after them. It’s time to settle the score."
Resident Evil: Afterlife is due in theaters around the fall of 2010. I'm really hoping they scrapped the million Alice clones storyline and have decided to go back to basics, as keeping the scariness of the videogames, but follow their own formula with lots of action and special effects. So far I'm loving the cast choices. boris Kodjoe is a good actor, always have been a fan of Ali Larter, and I'm sure the fans will enjoy the fact that Chris and Claire Redfield will be in the new movie. i just hope because Paul and Milla are together he will give the Redfields a much larger role in the film that is equal to Alice. Love you Milla, but the Alice character isn't even a character in the Resident Evil series. Was completely made up by the screenwriter. I think if Paul goes back to the basics of the first film (which wasn't half bad), then I feel the RE series can redeem itself in a big way. Another thing i was wondering. Since they killed off Oliveras in the last film, why not bring in leon as a possible love interest for Alice? Leon is badass!
