As the summer finally winds down, the GODS have claimed another celebrity life. A friend of mine (and faithful follower of the blog) sent me a text that Patrick Swayze had died and I thought he was sending me a cruel joke. Apparently he wasn't.
Patrick died of pancreatic cancer yesterday. He was only 57. Patrick's rep issued this statement:
"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months."
Patrick starred in many of my favorite films back in the day like The Outsiders, Road House, Ghost, Point Break, To Wong Foo and of course, one of my all time masterpieces Dirty Dancing. I just bought Dirty Dancing last week on DVD. It was time to upgrade from VHS (which I still watch Too Wong Foo on).
Rest in peace, Patrick. You will most definitely be missed.
