JANET TALKS ABOUT MICHAEL IN HARPER'S BAZAAR

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Janet Jackson is breaking her silence about her late brother Michael Jackson’s death in the October 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, on stands Sept. 22. Here’s what the 43-year-old singer opened up about:

On Michael’s daughter, Paris, speaking during his memorial service: “I was really proud. People said to me that Michael’s daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She’s a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They’re with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going.”

On what she’s like the world to know about Michael: “He loved to laugh. The last time we were together, he’d laugh so hard, he would just start crying. Sometimes his humor would be corny, sometimes dry. He loved the Three Stooges, he loved slapstick, he loved Eddie Murphy in his silly comedies. He loved to have fun. He loved to play… He’s just got so much love, and so much heart, and so much power through his music. Children and his love for children. People have told me, ‘I am an American citizen because of your brother.’”

Also in the article, she talks candidly about her break-up with longtime boyfriend producer Jermaine Dupri. They have been apart since this summer. I wonder if working together professionally and producing lackluster hits for her last three flops had anything to do with the split? A few weeks ago I talked about Janet releasing a new book and a brand new cd. Well I have further news on that. The title of her new book is called "True You" and will be released next year. The article also states that her new album will come out next spring and that she will go on tour in 2010.

Don’t forget: Janet will OPEN this year’s MTV VMAs with a special tribute to her late brother, Michael Jackson. Choreographers Wade Robson and Gil Duldulao created a major buzz via their Myspace and Facebook pages by announcing they were in rehearsals with Janet so you know she'll be snatched to the T and she'll be bringing it to the dance floor. So far Janet is on the right track as far as hiring Wade Robson as choreographer. He has worked with Michael in the past, and has done many memorable pieces for Britney Spears and many of the dancers on popular competition series, So You Think You Can Dance. I'm sure since she's now free from a major label, maybe she should hire Wade as a permanent choreographer, because you know he'll get the kids buzzing about Janet again like Jamie King did resurrecting Madonna's career with memorable dance performances. Tune in this Sunday, September 13@ 9pm/8c on MTV.

P.S. great article BTW. Although I feared after the past few years, Janet had become quite boring and uninteresting as an artist and an interview. I would have also liked to have seen Janet interview with Barbara Walters instead of LaToya. Although, Toy Toy may bring the crazy.
