JOHN HUGHES HAS PASSED AWAY

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

As the summer fades to black and makes room for autumn in less than a month, we unfortunately have to add another icon to the greats that have passed this summer. Director John Hughes passed away this morning in NYC after suffering a heart attack while on a morning walk. John was in NYC to visit with his family. He was only 59-years-old.

John is responsible for the many teen classics I watched faithfully growing up such as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club(my all time favorite), Pretty In Pink, Weird Science (my second favorite. BTW, whatever happened to Kelly LeBrock?), Ferris Bueller's Day Off (Bueller?...Bueller?), Planes Trains & Automobiles, She's Having A Baby, Curly Sue, Home Alone (I was obsessed with this movie as a kid), Vacation, European Vacation, and Career Opportunities.

May John rest in peace. The king of teen comedies will be sorely missed.
