SYFY CHANNEL TO RESURRECT ALIEN NATION
SyFy (formerly Sc iFi) is updating the cult movie and it spinoff TV series, Alien Nation for the new millennium according to Variety. Tim Minear, who worked on Angel and Firefly, is developing the newest version of the franchise that will take place 20 years after the Aliens landed in the Pacific Northwest. I was a big fan of Angel and Firefly, so I'm rooting for Tim Minear to strikje gold with another series. If the new show keeps the spirit of the original, but follows the format of Battlestar Galactica by interjecting the metaphors that affect us as humans such as racism, reigion, and gay rights, but add a bit of cool action sequences into the mix, I really think an updated Alien Nation will find success with a new audience.
