EPIC RECORDS DROPS BRANDY FROM LABEL

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It wasn't too long ago that Brandy was dropped from longtime label Atlantic Records. Now after her latest cd Human failed to make a dent on the charts, her new label Epic Records has dropped her as well.

R&B singer Brandy is in search of a new record deal, reports BV Buzz. Released on Dec. 8, 2008, the CD has only sold 196,509 units to date according to SoundScan.

"Her friend Brandon Creed that works as an A&R representative at Epic Records has been making calls to see if other labels would be interested in signing her," a record company source told BV.

Word on the street also is that Brandy is currently looking for new management since she has since parted ways with her team.

Human was an amazing cd. I have played it plenty of times since it was released, and it had some really good songs (Piano Man was on heavy rotation in my house), but I guess in this Beyonce/Rihanna R&B world, Brandy (who is a veteran in this game) needs to step her game up, or else she'll be in musical limbo like another veteran, Janet Jackson. I had just heard she was working on a new cd with Pharrell and a few other hot producers, so I really hope that she finds a new home soon so that she can give us some hot new music. It's time to step your game up, B Rocka.
