I know many fans (including myself) are still in shock about the untimely death of Michael Jackson, but I really think people have lost their damn mind. Word on the street is that devastated Michael Jackson fanatics have committed suicide because of the superstar's death, according to the singer's biggest online fan club.
As of this writing, 13 people have taken their own lives.
"I know there has been an increase, I now believe the figure is 12. I believe there may have been one Briton who has taken their life, Gary Taylor, who runs MJJcommunity.com, said. "It is a serious situation that these people are going through but Michael Jackson would never want this. He would want them to live."
A young Tunisian girl took her life, too.
"She spent the day in her bedroom watching Jackson videos and later swallowed a large amount of tablets' reports the Barcelona Reporter.
Another Russian fan Pável Talaláyev was found bleeding heavily at his home in Moscow just hours after it was announced that Michael had died. (An ambulance crew found him in time on Friday and managed to save his life.)
I know people are upset that their idol is gone, but taking your own life is never the answer. If you need help, please call National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
In other MJ news, Michael Jackson's body will return to his Neverland Ranch on Thursday morning for a public viewing Friday, reports CNN.
A private memorial service is scheduled for Sunday.
