WHITNEY SET TO DO INTERVIEWS; BUT NO CRACK TALK

Last week, I broke news that Whitney's long-awaited album will be released in September, but what's even more exciting is that she's gearing up to do TV and print interviews to promote it.

There's just one catch. According to sources, Whitney will only speak to journalists who promise not to bring up the big pink elephant in the room.

“They only want to let her talk to journalists who’ll agree not to ask about her substance abuse,” an insider told the NY Daily News.

In 2002, Whitney told Diane Sawyer she abused alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and pills. It was in that same interview she proclaimed: "Crack is wack!"

“The deal is, if they want her, then Matt Lauer, Diane Sawyer or whoever isn’t supposed to ask her tough questions,” the source said.

That sounds completely ridiculous. How can you be gone for seven years (due to your dependency on drugs), and expect no one to mention it? To be honest, it would be one of the many (if not main) reasons why people would tune in to see Whitney in the first place. As I always say, go in or don't go in at all. Not mentioning the elephant in the room, as they say, simply isn't gonna happen. In case anyone wants to wax nostalgic, check out the LEGENDARY interview with Sawyer back in '02 when Whitney claimed "crack is wack!"
