Even before recent reports got out (including that infamous audio from the Terminator: Salvation set), Christian Bale doesn't necessarily strike me as the easiest person to work with. So I can't say I'm totally surprised by this decision. After finding out that 'Dark Knight' director, Chris Nolan, wouldn't be back on board for another movie in the Batman franchise, Christian says he's out too.
"Chris is in the mindset that he is unlikely to be able to top what was achieved with Dark Knight," reveals a Hollywood insider. "He has a number of new projects he's working on and Batman is not a priority for him right now. Christian is unlikely to want to do another one without Chris. He feels only he understands the dynamic of the character and so it could well be that there will have to be a new Batman and director if there is to be a third movie."
Hmmm...Chris needs to come back on board for another batman film. he pretty much set the bar on The Dark Knight. Also isn't Christian contractually obligated to play Batman once more? Don't think you'll have an easy time backing out of the huge cash cow Warner Bros. is backing. They're not going to let you go that easy. Just a few months back, we were debating who would play Catwoman and the Riddler (should those be the next villans in the next Batman film), and now we have to think about who would take over for Christian as Batman??? For now I'm going to file this under rumor.
