Well just like Borat, we all knew it was only a matter of time before clueless folks who fell victim to Sacha Baron Cohen's antics would be firing up the lawsuits faster than coochie numbing cream wormed it's way up Paris Hilton's nut sacks. Sacha Baron Cohen is facing yet another ridiculous lawsuit from an elderly woman following an altercation in a bingo hall during filming of his satirical movie Bruno.
Richelle Olson is suing the actor and film company NBC Universal, among others, over claims the star appeared as his outrageous alter-ego at a charity game she organized in Palmdale, Calif. in 2007.
Olson says she was surprised when Sacha arrived at the event dressed as Bruno - in, what she calls, an "extreme, outrageous, offensive caricature of a gay man dressed in sexually revealing clothing with an Austrian accent".
Bitch, please! You didn't even know it was him until I'm sure this whole thing that hit tv involving his skit with Eminem hit the TV. She accuses the star of using "vulgar and offensive language" when he took the stage to call the numbers during the bingo game, and when she tried to snatch the microphone from him she alleges a "physical struggle ensued".
The legal papers allege Sacha "offensively touched, pushed and battered" Olson, causing her to fall to the ground.
She goes on to accuse several cameramen, who were filming the event, of rushing on to the stage where "defendants attacked (her) for a period of one to five minutes to intentionally create a dramatic emotional response... while (they) recorded her humiliation and embarrassment."
Olson alleges she was so shaken by the incident she left the room and passed out "falling forward onto the thinly covered concrete slab causing her to hit her head". She claims she was subsequently admitted to hospital with "diagnosis of two brain bleeds" and has been confined to a wheelchair since the incident. She and her husband are suing for unspecified damages, according to TMZ. Now with all these cameras around, wouldn't thay have gotten this on film? I know it's a recession and all, but when will people stop trying to find every opportunity to make money off of any damn idea that pops into their heads?
Cohen has faced a variety of legal troubles over his comic creations in the past, including a string of lawsuits from members of the public who alleged they were duped into appearing in his 2006 film Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan. Two of the cases were dismissed by the courts last year.
