I first discovered Sam Sparro's music when a good DJ friend of mine played me his music last summer at his apartment. Hearing Black & Gold for the first time immediately built up enough excitement for me to go out and buy his cd. Well imagine my amazement when i got wind that Sam Sparro graces the cover of the latest issue of gay mag ATTITUDE. On top of that I nearly geeked when I discovered he is openly gay! Why is it that the Aussie's are comfortable with themselves and can make a living as out artists, but when you are an American artist who comes out, you can't have the same success as a Beyonce or Justin Timberlake? It just makes no sense to me. Maybe I need to move to Australia (which was actually recommended to me when I was chatting with a New Zealander I met at the club last week). I have a bit of a European swagger to the way I carry myself. Anyways, check out Sam performing Black & Gold as well as my girl Adele covering the track. I'm also going to add Cut Me Loose which is my favorite disco track off Sam's self-titled cd which is in stores now. So go pick it up bitches!
