Rapper/actor/author LL Cool J received the Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Award last night (April 6) in New York. According to Jewish media outlet JTA, The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding hosted a swanky affair at the home of Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons, who is also co-chair of the organization with founder Rabbi Marc Schneier. The organization aims to promote black-Jewish and Muslim-Jewish relations. “LL has long history of social and political activism. He is one person who is not recognized enough for his gifts,” Russell Simmons told sources.. “I’m very happy to have honored him for his many contributions.”
