I'm sure you all know how much I loooooove RuPaul's Drag Race. I can't talk about it enough. Well one of my favorites on the show Ongina (love that name)recently blogged on her MySpace page about her recent adventure in NYC after winning the MAC Viva Glam challenge. I'm really hoping Ongina wins the show, because in my opinion he has the complete package. Smart, compassionate, personable, fierce and has a wicked sense of humor. I could totally see him going beyond drag, maybe even taking on the task as a correspondent for fashion week. Not to come off biased or anything, but you know I gotta represent for my Filipina sisters (after all, I am part Filipino). You can read all about it below:
My Recent Adventure!
Current mood:rested.
Wow.
What an amazing past two weeks. I was in NYC last week to meet with the MAC people to prep me as their Viva Glam Spokesperson and the experience was truly amazing. MAC has some of the best people in the industry and they welcomed me with such open arms. I'm not gonna lie though, the initial meeting was a bit nerve racking since this is one huge deal to represent.
I then returned to LA to go back to my day job and left again for NYC this week on Tuesday and Wednesday to become MAC's Viva Glam Spokesperson for the day. The day started early at 8 am on Wednesday with the amazing Bianca who did my make up. Then it was off to the Flatiron store where I did some interviews with Papermag, POZ, StyleIt, and other bloggers out there. I got to meet and greet some of my fans and they are all truly amazing!
We then drove over to the Harvey Milk High School, a place for LGBTQ kids to get an education while being comfortable in their own skin! Truly amazing.
I donated a $25,000 check on behalf of the MAC Aids Fund to the school in hopes that this will help them keep providing for our future and give them the education and services they need!
After that, it was off to Colorado! I was stuck in Denver because I missed my connecting fligh to Montrose so I hung out with Ms. NINA FLOWERS! She is one of my sisters and I was truly excited to see her. Even though I was exhausted, I managed to pull my self together and join her for drinks are her club, Tracks? or Traxx?. She has the best family ever and I was excited I got to meet all of them.
Woke up Thursday morning and caught my flight to Montrose. We then drove to Telluride, one of the most beautiful ride I have ever witnessed and the mountain resort was truly amazing. You can see photos on my Facebook.
I got ready to judge the Drag Race downhill ski race and mingled with folks having a good time. You should have seen me trying to trek up the mountain in my non snow Stella boots! It was hilarious. The logo team had to carry me up the freaking mountain.
The judging was fun. I mean drag queens going down a hill in skis or snowboard couldn't get any better! When we finished I headed over to the LOGO lounge to mingle with fans. This time I rode a ski mobile down the slopes and what an amazing feeling that was!!! So fun.
That night I performed at the white party and it was so much fun to hang with the kids and party is up with the Perry Twins!!! They're so cute with their dance routines!
After my performance, I just went home and passed the f* out!
I left for LA in the morning and I'm glad to say I'm home sweet home.
PS: I also want to thank my friends in NYC who came and joined me for dinner at the Maritime Hotel and at Hayden's house. I truly miss all of you and wish I could be with you at all times....
LOVE YOU ALL>
Kisses,
Ongina

im sorry that she got booted off the show last night :(
Darling!! You forgot to mention that she has the number one quality of a drag queen - SHE'S BIG ON OVERACTING!!! Don't get me wrong, I like her, but Oh Mary! She gives new meaning to drama queen! Its just enough not to be a chariacature of most dragons and only a little over the top. Step 3 all the way!
I will definitely get to that statement when I blog about Monday night's Ru's Drag Race
