After quite a few missteps at bringing hit television shows to the big screen, Hollyweird is at it again with taking a classic tv show and giving it the theater treatment. Not sure if this is a good idea or not, but one of the shows I grew up on, MacGyver is coming to the big screen. Executive producer Dino De Laurentiis is hoping to jarring a Hollywood hit out of the show about a guy, played by pre-Stargate SG1 actor Richard Dean Anderson who could make a bomb out of a paper clip, car battery and rubber bands.
New Line's Richard Brener said, "We think we're a stick of chewing gum, a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise."
If they could make this shit as good as a two hour episode of 24, instead of some campy horrible shit like Knight Rider, I'm totally there! Get hottie Channing Tatum to play MacGyver or Paul Walker.
