After years of being put on the backburner, VH1 has decided to revamp their old popular series, Behind The Music. Their first guest will be none other than Lil Wayne. After covering the lives of everyone from Mary J. Blige to LL Cool J prior to 2006, VH1’s “Behind The Music” took a break. Today, VH1 executive vice president of original programming says “It felt like the time is right”. “There’s all sorts of new artists on the scene who have emerged and have these great stories. And there’s other artists that we always wanted to do the first time around.” According to the Hollywood Reporter, VH1 has ordered 10 new episodes of “Music”due to air later this year. Grammy Award-winning musician Scott Weiland has reportedly signed on for the series with Lil Wayne. Other participating entertainers will be revealed at a later date.

When I was at VH1, I had heard they were planning to just film updates on the celebs they covered to add to old episodes of BTM. I see they've decided to go another route. I always liked BTM when it was on in the nineties, so I'm glad they're coming back to cover new artists.
