The Rev. Al Sharpton along with over 300 blacks, latinos, and whites protested against a racist comic strip that appeared in yesterday's NY Post. The cartoon which was done by homophobic comic strip artist Sean Delonas shows a dead chimp and two police officers, one with a smoking gun.
The caption reads, "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill."
The cartoon refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn., on Monday after it mauled a friend of its owner. It links the chimp to Obama, who signed his administration's economic stimulus plan on Tuesday.
Sharpton called the cartoon offensive and divisive, and of course The Post had no immediate comment.
Why would they respond? Everyone knows the NY Post is run by ignorant, Republikkkan assholes who hate gays and people of color. Why has it taken folks this long to realize the NY Post isn't a newspaper of relevance is beyond me.
