During yesterday's Hot Topics, Elizabitch went after Michael Phelps for being an adult and doing grown man things, since once you become famous you're supposed to be Molly Miss Perfect and be a role model for children. Whoopi was the only one who defended Mike on the show, going as far as admitting to smoking weed herself. I don't see what's the big deal. They couldn't figure out he was a pothead the way he talked in interviews? Besides, I'd rather he smoke weed than the infamous Amy Winehouse dessert special.
P.S. I don't think Michael Phelps asked to be a role model. Here is someone who won eight gold metals for swmming like JAWS was chasing him. The media are the ones who put him on this pedestal and put all this responsibility on him. He's human like everyone else, and humans are allowed to do things that some may find wrong. I 'm just upset he appologized for getting caught. I just find it sad that parents have become so damn lazy by shoving celebrities and athletes down their kids throats as a role model if it means they don't have to do the hard work to be role models to thier own children. My parents are my role models. I admire stars for what they do, but never in my life have I ever looked up to a celebrity and wanted to be like them.
