MAYBE JESUS WILL SUCK IT AT THE GRAMMY'S TOO

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Remember earlier this past season on Kathy Griffin's reality show when she decided to record a comedy album For Your Consideration just so she could get a Grammy? Well her dream is very close to coming true because Miss Griffin was nominated for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album last night along with Flight of the Conchords, George Carlin, Lewis Black and Harry Shearer. Hooray! I hope she wins, but I have a feeling the Grammy folks may go with George Carlin because he passed. This is how the assholes in this industry think. I remember reading about Terry Gilliam being pissed because Warner Bros. was going around hyping The Dark Knight as Heath Ledger's last film (when it was actually Gilliam's Dr. Parnassus), and when word got out over Heath's accidental overdose, one exec responded, "Well that means he won't be around to do press). I guess that's Hollyweird speak for "I'm sorry for your loss?"

Anyways, the nominations were announced last night during a Grammy nomination concert. They had a fucking concert to announce the nominations and they showed that shit on TV. What's next? A televised concert to announce the nomination concert? And another televised concert to announce that Mimi's shit is banana-shaped?

Lil Wayne received the most nominations with 8. Coldplay got 7 nominations. Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye got 6 nominations each. Here's just a few of the top categories. And that's all I felt like posting. If you give a shit about the other nominees, wait until the Grammy's air on tv next year.

Adele scored four nominations! They are Best New Artist, as well as Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Chasing Pavements. Amazing voice and amazing cd. Chasing Pavements should be enough to get folks to go out and buy her cd.

Leona Lewis got three noms - Best Pop Vocal Album for her debut, Spirit and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Record of the Year for Bleeding Love. Great songs, but she just comes off to me like a boring Mariah Carey. And you can't get no more boring than that bitch!

Rihanna also scored three nods - in the Best Dance Recording category for Disturbia, in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category, If I Never See Your Face Again with Maroon 5, and in the Best Long Form Music Video category for Good Girl Gone Bad: Live. Wasn't really feeling the Maroon 5 track, but Rihanna released eight hot banging tracks off of her third cd. She deserves to win a Grammy (even though she never writes her own songs, but I guess that doesn't matter).

Madonna and Lady Gaga are both vying for Best Dance Recording, for Give It To Me and Just Dance, respectively. While this was madonna's best cd in quite a while, I have to go with GaGa. Can't stop listening to her cd.

Madonna is also nominated in the Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals category for her duet with Justin Timberlake, 4 Minutes. That song was terrible, but because everyone has taking a swig of the douche water, they'll most likely win this one.

Robyn was nominated in the Best Electronic/Dance Album category for Robyn. if you don't have her cd, go out and buy it. Los of fun electro pop songs on there you can sing along and dance to.

M.I.A. got a Record of the Year nod for her crossover hit Paper Planes. She deserves to win Album of the Year. Kala was an amazing cd.

Pink was nominated in the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance category for So What. Only one song? The new P!nk cd is amazing!

Jason Mraz earned a nom with I'm Yours for Song of the Year.

Ugh! another boring year at the Grammy's. They just need to banish all award shows.
P.S. please give Kathy the award so that we can hear what craziness will come out of her mouth (like the Emmy's two years ago).
