Beyonce comes in this week at number 3 with her latest LP I Am…Sasha Fierce selling 152,800 discs, pushing the album’s total sales to 893,300 copies. Sliding to No. 4 is Kanye West who scores a gold plaque this week. 808’s & Heartbreak passed the 500,000 sales mark by pushing 141,600 discs this week. The album’s tally stands at 593,000. Akon debuts at No. 7 with his latest effort titled Freedom. The album, which features appearances from Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy, sells 110,800 copies in its opening week.
Ludacris’ Theatre Of The Mind comes in at number 16 this week by pushing 65,200 units. After 3 weeks on the charts, Theatre Of The Mind has sold a total of 279,400 copies. Legendary rapper Scarface debuts at No. 29 with his last solo effort Emeritus. The set, which features appearances from Lil Wayne and Bun B, pushes 42,200 discs in its opening week. T.I. continues to keep registers ringing at No. 31. Paper Trail scanned 38,900 copies this week. So far, the album has sold a total of 1,342,700 discs.
Rihanna slips a spot to No. 37. Good Girl Gone Bad shifts 30,100 units this week. After 79 weeks on the chart, the album has sold 2,087,500 copies. Seated at No. 38 is T-Pain. Thr33 Ringz reels in 29,000 units in its 4th week on the charts. To date, the album has sold 307,300 copies. Seated at No. 47 is Lil Wayne. The Carter III shifted 23,300 copies this week, bringing the album’s total sales to 2,749,900. Young Jeezy stays put at No. 85. The Recession reeled 12,800 units this week, pushing the album’s total sales to 657,800.
Holding fort at No. 98 is Q-Tip. The Renaissance ropes in 6,400 units this week, pushing the album’s total to 73,600.Right behind him is E-40 at No. 106. Ball Street Journal scanned 5,600 units this week. To date, the album has sold 42,000 copies.
