Janet Jackson has canceled more dates of her Rockwithu tour than Amy Winehouse has cancelled stints in rehab. So what's the deal behind her mystery illness?
The statements released by her publicist state that the megastar has been treated and is recovering. But as usual, the explanations do not offer details which leave folks to feel a bit suspicious.
A person's health is his or her personal business, but what's the big deal about Janet giving her thousands of fans who purchased concert tickets some insight to what's happening?
The thing that has always annoyed me about Janet is her consistant elusiveness to her fans and the media. The alleged secret child she had back in the day. Her secret marriage to Rene Elizondo. Maybe Janet is having a tough time dealing with subpar ticket sales. Vadge's sales for the "Sweet & Sour" tour are far from "Confessions" good, but as they say in show business "The show must go on."
Maybe Janet is stressed out? Her latest cd, Discipline is her third flop in a row. Discipline is also her first album with Island Def Jam and it failed to reach the heights Janet anticipated. It was reported last month that an unhappy Janet exited her recording deal with IDJ and was planning to release a new album through iTunes.
Why has LL Cool J been so quiet? It was a big deal for him to join Janet on this tour and to promote Exit 13, his final album on Def Jam. But no tour for Janet means no tour for Cool J, and he has not said anything regarding the matter. Bad Boy recording artist Donnie Klang is also supposed to join Janet on her tour. He's a new artist, so being on this tour would have helped cd sales tremendously. He too has been quiet.
So why is Janet's career still in limbo? People can't still be upset with Janet for the Super Bowl wardrobe fiasco. What still pisses me off is that Janet's career is still on a decline while the fake wigger Justin Timberdouche continues to flourish on the backs of blacks.
If you are indeed sick, I hope that you get well soon so that you can get out there and show artists like Britney and Ciara (who are definitely in the running to take your crown) how it's done. Also you need to seriously think of a new strategy to get people interested in your music again. What do you guys think Janet should do to get her career back on track?
