Word on the street is that the legendary rappers from my hometown of Hollis, Queens have been nominated for the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If inducted in, RUN DMC will be the second hip hop ground to be voted in after last year Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five were voted in. Run-DMC lead the way for many rappers after being the first rap group to do many things. They were the first act to go gold, platinum, and multi-platinum with their albums. DMC also was also the rappers to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, first to have a rap video appear on MTV, and first hip-hoppers to sign an endorsement deal (with Adidas). Congrats to RUN DMC. This honor is truly well deserved.
