After ten years on the air, a HUGE staple on MTV will finally say goodbye come November. MTV has decided to cancel it’s one time highly successful daily music video countdown show, Total Request Live. TRL debuted in 1998 with Carson Daly as it’s host and became a huge hit after introducing a number of pop and hip hop acts. Over 10 years and 2,000 episodes, TRL helped break huge artists like 50 Cent, Kanye West, The Game and Eminem. “I’m going to miss TRL,” Eminem in a statement. “Where else will I be able to start feuds, defend my honor vigorously and act like an angry teenager on national TV? Oh wait…the VMAs!” Total Request Live will air it’s final episode in November, the executive producer says. A two-hour special celebrating the shows mark on pop culture is reportedly in the works and scheduled to air also in November.

I'll tell you what put the final nail in TRL's coffin. It was the fact they lacked VJ's with personality and whenever they have the Jonas Brothers on their music drives kids to change the channel. I've got my fingers crossed that 106 & Park will be the next show to get the ax. Well if there is a GOD in heaven they'll cancel it.
P.S. To make this story a little more exciting, I thought I'd post the LEGENDARY video of Mimoo losing her shit on TRL (back when Carson was on and the show was worth watching still).
