Tranny Banks is pulling all the stops to get people interested in the new season of her tired competition show, America's Next Top Model.
The upcoming season will have 14 girls competing. But, just like in my favorite cocktail, there will be a twist. Besides the two they already have (Tyra and Miss J,) Tyra's adding a male to female transgender to the cast of competitors! Isis, a 22year old former receptionist, is from Prince George's County, Maryland.
Isis says "My cards were dealt differently." Adding that she identifies herself as "a woman born physically male." In other words she was born with a man's toolbox. But everything else is pure lady.
Surely Tyred will keep her on the sho as long as possible simply for the fact that anyone remotely different that you don's see on tv guarantees ratings. Isis says, "I like to help people, but I'm here to follow my dreams."
GLAAD president Neil Giuliano says this marks "an unprecedented opportunity for a community that is underrepresented on television. We applaud Tyra Banks and The CW for making this historic visibility of transgender people possible."
If you're going to add trannies to the cast, why don't we have a male ANTM on tv? There's plenty of room for male models besides on "Make Me a Supermodel" and "Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency."
The new season of ANTM debuts the day after my birthday, September 3rd.
