As I'm sure you're all aware, NKOTB have reunited and are scheduled to go on tour and release a new cd. Now word on the street is that New Kids on the Block recorded a song last week with fellow 80's boyband supergroup, New Edition, minus the most infamous member - the former Mr. Whitney Houston (AND OG CRACKHEAD), Bobby Brown.
Song producer Nadir "RedOne" Khawat (Kat DeLuna, Robyn) says, "Donnie Wahlberg had this idea for a few months, since New Kids had the idea of getting back together really. Donnie's been looking for that one track for all of them and I think we found it."
The ensemble track, titled Full Service, will appear on NKOTB's not-yet-titled upcoming album.
The song was written by Wahlberg, Khawat, and New York disco diva Lady GaGa who is a RedOne protege and has a hot song out right now called Just Dance.
New Edition's Ralph Tresvant recently addressed the rumors that the two bands have been feuding for years, saying, "The thing people were going back and forth with was we'd been doing what we were doing for the longest [but] we couldn't get cartoons and things that the white guys were getting. It was like, 'wow'. But the guys themselves, we have mad love."
Looking foward to hearing the finished product and I'm really hoping there are a lot of uptempo songs on their new cd.
