Below is the trailer for the upcoming flick Outlander. It stars Jesus Christ himself James Caviezel (the upcoming WATCHMEN)as a man from a far-off world who travels to Earth in 709 A.D. to track a dragon-esque monster known as the Moorwen. Using his advanced technology combined with a spirited group of Vikings, he sets off to slay the beast and keep it from ravaging Earth.
This feels an awful lot like Reign of Fire, the 2002 apocalyptic dragon flick that saw a pre-Batman Christian Bale, a pre-300 Gerard Butler and a bald-headed Matthew McConaughey take on the gigantic, fire-breathing beasts. Only this time, it is mixed with a little bit of Pathfinder and Quantum Leap — in a futuristic traveler drops in on a tribe of crazy Viking warriors sort of way. It actually looks like it will be a cool movie, and I like films about vikings or anything of a historical nature.
Outlander is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in 2008, and it is being released by The Weinstein Company.
