GUY RICHIE LANDS MAJOR STAR FOR NEXT FILM

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that Guy Ritchie is getting ready to direct Warner Brothers' new Sherlock Holmes film.

Well word on the street is that Guy has landed a major star for the role of Mr. Holes — and it's none other than Robert Downey, Jr. Industry rag Variety says Downey committed to the pic, which begins shooting in October, after Ritchie turned in a polish of the latest version of the script. Like his role in Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes will require alot of physical work because Sherlock will be portrayed as rough and tumble AND super smart.

Variety also mentions that the Ritchie-helmed Sherlock will go into production before a rival studio's Sherlock Holmes comedy, starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell.

First Sacha has to finish the Bruno film and then he can get to work on his Sherlock film. Will you guys be going out to see this?
