There is a sadness in the world of comedy. George Carlin, one of my favorite stand-up comedians, passed away from heart failure at Saint Joan's Hospital in Santa Monica, CA yesterday. He was 71. He was a pioneer and was one of the rare comics who stood up for what he believed in.
George has had a history of heart problems. He checked into the hospital yesterday after complaining about chest pains.
He is survived by his second wife Sally Wade and his daughter Kelly Carlin.
My condolences go out to George and his family and he will be sorely missed.
