M.I.A. PUTS HER MONEY TO GOOD USE

Alternative/Electro rapper and Marc Jacobs muse M.I.A. was paid a hefty coin to perform at an MTV Movie Awards after-party Sunday night. She also disclosed at the event how much she was paid to perform and what she plans to do with the cash.

Mid-song, M.I.A. announced, “They’re giving me $100,000. Not bad, eh? I’m going to use it to build schools in Liberia. It costs $52,000 to build a school for 1,000.”

That's totally cool. She's putting the money to good use instead of pocketing it all like some of these celebrities do to pimp out their own kids for cash.
