Rapper/actor Busta Rhymes will be one of the many performers for this summer’s Project Revolution tour, which also features performances by Linkin Park, Chris Cornell, the Bravery and Ashes Divide, and others. Busta recently had Linkin Park guest appear on his new single, “We Made It,” which was produced by Cool & Dre along with Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda.
Busta’s eighth studio album, Blessed, is due out later this summer on Flipmode/Aftermath/Interscope. “It made perfect sense for us to be on the tour together, so we could perform ['We Made It'] and bring it to life for people every night,” Rhymes said. I think that's perfect since there aren't that many rappers who are interesting enough to captivate an audience for two hours on tour. Especially when alot of these artists just stand around screaming into a microphone with a hype man.
Busta is also getting ready to do some more acting. He will appear in the upcoming film “Order of Redemption,” which also stars actors Armand Assante and Tom Berenger. “We’re strategically moving the chess pieces to make sure we’re doing the most incredible things that we can be doing,” says Rhymes, noting that he has a “couple of deals we’re going to be closing on a corporate level.” After the tour with Linkin Park, Busta will head overseas. “We’re starting in Europe and then bringing it back to the U.S.,” he says. “We’re still coordinating the lineup right now.”
